"The only Tokyo taco I have eaten that I would eat again in Mexico City. The achiote marinade is correct; the pineapple is used correctly; the tortilla is made in-house. This is the real thing."

"Carnitas El Toro is the Tokyo taco counter that takes the Mexican original seriously. The pork shoulder is marinated in dried chiles and achiote for 48 hours before it's griddled to order. The al pastor version uses the same method with pineapple added. The tortillas are sourced from a Mexican supplier in Osaka. This is the only Tokyo operation making tacos that would feel authentic in Mexico City."
